Women's Squash Begins Title Defense with Resounding 9-0 Win Over Boston College

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team (1-0) opened up its title defense with a resounding, 9-0, win over Boston College at the MIT Round Robin Tournament Friday.

The Crimson swept each match 3-0 to improve to 38-0 all-time in season openers and extend its winning streak to 18.

Two of Harvard's heralded freshman class made their collegiate debuts in impressive fashion. Saumya Karki, playing in the No. 1 position, defeated Lilly Havens, 11-5, 11-6, 11-7, to earn her first collegiate victory, while Isabelle Dowling served as the No. 3 and bested Madeline Bette, 11-5, 11-7, 11-6.

Harvard returns to action with its Ivy League opener Nov. 27 at the Murr Center against Dartmouth.
