CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard women's squash team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season where the squad looks to defend its national title. The Crimson hopes to continue its success from last season as it hosts seven matches and plays six road contests during the regular season in preparation for the College Squash Association (CSA) Team and Individual Championships.
The women opens the 2012-13 season with the MIT Round-Robin Tournament on Nov. 16. After a two-week break, Harvard will host Dartmouth on Nov. 28. On Dec. 1, the Crimson travel to the Boston Round-Robin Tournament. The final match of the calendar year will see the women play host to Williams Dec. 5.
The Crimson return to action following the winter holidays at home with a match against Bates Jan. 9. Harvard travels to Penn (Jan. 12) and Princeton (Jan. 13) then comes back home for matches against Columbia (Feb. 2), Cornell (Feb. 3) and Trinity (Feb.6). On Feb. 8, the Crimson goes on the road for a match against Brown.
Harvard finishes its regular season hosting Yale Feb. 10. The Crimson then prepares for the CSA Team Championships-Howe Cup Feb. 15-17 hosted this season by Yale. The CSA Individual Championships follow on Mar. 1-3 at Trinity College.
The Harvard women's squash team went undefeated last season and looks to continue its success this season as they defend the national title. Mike Way, the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University, has last year's individual champion and first team All-American sophomore Amanda Sobhy returning this season along with fellow first team All-American senior Laura Gemmell and second team All-American sophomore Haley Mendez.
