No. 1 Women's Squash Powers Past No. 8 Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – The top-ranked Harvard women's squash team defeated No. 8 Dartmouth, 9-0, to earn its 38th consecutive season opening victory Tuesday. The Crimson has opened every season with a win since its inaugural season.

Seven Crimson athletes swept their matches, led by Amanda Sobhy at the No. 1 spot (11-6, 11-5, 11-4) and Haley Mendez (11-0, 11-2, 11-3) at the second position.

After losing the second game, Saumya Karki regained momentum at the No. 3 spot to clinch the win (11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-6). Michelle Gemmell and Julianne Chu contributed three-game sweeps against the Big Green. 

Katie Tutrone, Dileas MacGowan and Caroline Monrad notched their first career wins at the No. 4, 7 and 10 positions respectively for the Crimson. Megan Murray came back from a first game setback to win the next three to secure a 3-1 victory in the No. 9 spot.

Harvard returns to action Saturday, Dec. 6 when the Crimson welcome Drexel and Boston College to the Murr Center.
