No. 1 Women's Squash Powers Past Drexel and Boston College

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 1 women's squash team notched a pair of victories over Drexel and Boston College to improve to 3-0 on the season.

In the first match, the Crimson swept all nine of its matches to post a 9-0 win over the Dragons.  Harvard was led by Amanda Sobhy in the top position and Haley Mendez in the No. 2 spot. Saumya Karki, Katie Tutrone, Michelle Gemmel, Julianne Chu, Dileas MacGowan, Isabelle Dowling and Megan Murray each posted 3-0 records to help secure the win.

The Crimson returned the court and powered past Boston College, 9-0.  Each of the nine of Crimson student-athletes posted 3-0 records en route to victory.

MacGowan defeated Lilly Havens in the top spot while Dowling and Murray defeated their opponents in the second and third position respectively. Monrad claimed her second victory of the day over Madeline Bette while Keegan Mendez, Alex Sperry, Georgiana Brinkley and Julie Monrad captured their first wins of the 2013-14 season.

Harvard will take a month long break before returning to the courts when the Crimson travels to Williamstown, Mass., to take on the Ephs of Williams on January 7.
