Top-Ranked Women's Squash Posts 6-3 Win over No. 4 Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The top-ranked Harvard women's squash team dominated the top half of the ladder and knocked off No. 4 Princeton, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at the Murr Center Squash Courts. Harvard improves to 5-0, 2-0 in the Ivy League, while Princeton suffered its first setback of the 2013-14 season.

Amanda Sobhy defeated Maria Elena Ubina in the No. 1 position, 11-3, 11-3, 11-1 to remain unbeaten on the year. Haley Mendez outlasted Nicole Bunyan 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, at No. 2. Rookie Katie Tutrone earned an 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 win against Rachel Leizman in the third spot to help the Crimson jump out to an early 3-0 lead.

Michelle Gemmell rebounded after losing the first game to beat Alexandra Sawin 9-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-7 in the fifth position. Isabelle Dowling rallied past Alexis Saunders in the eighth spot to seal the Crimson's victory.

Harvard will return to the Murr Center Squash Courts on Sunday Jan. 12 to take on No. 3 Penn.
