PHILADELPHIA - Two-time national defending champion Amanda Sobhy has advanced to the title match of the Ramsay Cup for the third time in as many years. The junior will look to capture her third individual national championship title.
The title match is slated for Sunday, March 2 at noon. Sobhy will face Trinity's Kanzy El Defrawy. The two have meet twice this year with Sobhy holding a, 2-0, advantage.
In the quarterfinals, Sobhy faced teammate Haley Mendez. The Sea Cliff, N.Y., native downed her Harvard teammate, 11-3, 11-4, 11-1 to advance to the semifinals.
The semifinal match was no different, as Sobhy made quick work of Penn's Anaka Alankamony, 11-5, 11-2, 11-2.
Sobhy remains undefeated on the year with a 20-0 record.
