CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard swimming and diving team released its 2012-13 schedule, which includes hosting the ECAC Championships at Blodgett Pool. The Crimson's schedule is also highlighted with two home dual meets and trips to Miami, the Georgia Invitational and the ECAC Fall Championships to go along with the Ivy League slate.
"The team has already expressed excitement about the schedule and are focusing on the season ahead," said Stephanie Wriede Morawski, the Costin Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Swimming & Diving.
The Crimson starts the year with three consecutive Ivy League tilts. Matchups against Dartmouth and Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. Nov. 10 get the season started for Harvard, followed by its only home dual of the fall, a Nov. 16 meeting with Columbia. The squad then rounds out the fall with sending members to the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., and the ECAC Fall Championships Nov. 30.
After the New Year, Harvard will take a training trip to Florida where it will also take on Miami Jan. 11. The Crimson follows its Southern trip with a return to the Northeast for the remainder of its schedule. Harvard will battle Penn and Brown in a tri-meet in Providence, R.I. Jan. 19, before hosting Vermont Jan. 20. The annual HYP meet rounds out the schedule Feb. 1-2 in Princeton, N.J.
Princeton will be a familiar place for the Crimson in February as Harvard's next meet is the Ivy Championships, also hosted by the Tigers Feb. 21-23. Harvard will look to defend the Ivy title it won last season at Blodgett Pool, while also hosting and competing at the ECAC Championships Feb. 22.
The NCAA Diving Qualifier will be March 14-16, followed by the NCAA Championships March 21-23 in Indianapolis.
