Women's Tennis Continues Roll with 7-0 Win Against Fairleigh Dickinson

Hannah Morrill did not lose a set in her singles match Saturday (OAC).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team continued its recent roll, picking up its fifth win in the last six contests, by blanking Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Murr Center Tennis Courts.

The Crimson (7-4) started the afternoon by earning the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match. The No. 3 tandem of Sylvia Li and Amanda Lin shutout Dina Guzairova and Manuela Leme, 8-0, while Hideko Tachibana and Kristin Norton topped Egnoza Morina and Celine Maier, 8-2, at No. 1 to lock up the point.

In singles play, the Crimson dominated the Knights, winning five of the six matches in straight sets. No. 5 Hannah Morrill turned in her finest performance of the season, topping Nicole Chis, 6-0, 6-0. Crystal Yen followed suit with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6 over Leme.

At No. 4, Lin topped Guzairova, 6-4, 6-1, while Norton picked up a 6-4, 6-2 triumph against Morina at No. 2 to earn the Crimson's fifth point of the afternoon.

Hai-Li Kong held off Maier in a tiebreak, 6-0, 7-6, at No. 3, while Tachibana completed the shutout, the Crimson's fourth of the season, with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 triumph at the top singles spot against Anna Rapoport.

Harvard returns to action March 30 against Syracuse in its final non-conference match of the season.
