Women’s Volleyball Welcomes Five Freshmen for 2011 Season
Harvard brings five freshman into the mix for the 2011 season (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Five freshmen will be joining the Harvard volleyball team for the 2011 season, head coach Jen Weiss announced Friday. Four of the five incoming student-athletes hail from California with the fifth being a Texas native.
"We are very excited about our freshmen class," said Weiss. "Katherine Ingersoll and Caroline Walters will be a force in the middle hitting position both offensively and defensively. Kristin Casey has a great court awareness and aggressive defense and backcourt."
"Tara MacLean will bring more ball control and discipline to the outside hitting position. She can read on defense and find a way to score offensively. And Sindhu Vegesena has such a great touch on the ball. Has always been a playmaker in the back row. Her effective serving and receive will impact our team."
"I look forward to our preseason and with consistent hard work in each practice we should prepare well for season."
