BERKELEY, Calif. – The Harvard women's water polo team scored in all four periods Saturday as it wrapped up its week-long California road trip with a 12-4 loss at No. 2 Cal.
Sophomore Elise Molnar scored twice for the Crimson, once in the second and again in the third, as the homecoming for Harvard assistant coach Jessi Wood, a 2008 Cal graduate, became bittersweet in the 12-4 defeat.
Freshman Shayna Price added a goal in the fourth frame and junior Shannon Purcell got the scoring started for the Crimson in the first quarter with Harvard's initial goal of the game, making it 2-1. The Crimson trailed, 7-2, at halftime.
Harvard returns home March 27 to Blodgett Pool for a 2 p.m. non-conference game against Wagner.
