Harvard
The Crimson (13-9, 4-1 CWPA Southern Division) has won four
straight, all against CWPA opponents, to close out its regular
season schedule. Harvard, which sits four games over .500, is
looking for its first back-to-back winning seasons since 2004 and
2005. Junior Aisha Price leads Harvard with 56 goals this season,
while senior Devan
Kennifer has added 50 tallies. Kennifer also leads the team
with 36 assists and 76 steals on the year. Other than Kennifer,
senior Monica
Zdrojewski has surpassed 30 in each of the three major stat
categories with 36 goals, 32 assists and 34 steals. Freshman Ariel
Dukes has made 148 saves as Harvard's goalie in her first year
in Cambridge.
Senior Day Excitement
Senior co-captain Devan Kennifer scored with 33 seconds left in
regulation to tie the game and fellow classmate and co-captain Shannon
Purcell provided the game-winner with 44 seconds remaining in
overtime to propel the Crimson past No. 20 Hartwick, 12-11, on
Tuesday. The win over Hartwick, the Crimson's fourth consecutive
victory, was Harvard's first in the last 27 meetings between the
two schools dating back to 2001. Junior Aisha Price led Harvard
with four goals, while senior Monica Zdrojewski had four assists
and Kennifer added eight steals. Freshman goalie Ariel Dukes
anchored the Harvard defense down the stretch as the Crimson
shutout the Hawks for the entirety of the fourth quarter and two
overtime periods.
