CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's water polo finished strong at the CWPA/MAAC Crossover notching a 14-7 win over Villanova before downing Iona, 13-7. The Crimson improves to 7-2 overall.

Eight Crimson student-athletes found the back of the net as the Harvard opened the final day of the CWPA/MAAC Crossover with a convincing win over Villanova.

Harvard jumped out to a, 9-2, lead at the half before adding three more scores and limiting the Wildcats just one goal heading into the fourth frame. Villanova gained momentum in the last eight minutes, outscoring the Crimson, 4-2, but the damage was already done.

Shayna Price led the way with three goals, while Alexis Del Toro, Yoshi Andersen, Michelle Martinelli and Victoria Frager each added two goals. Zoe Osborne, Kalina Grabb and Eela Nagaraj add one tally apiece.

Defensively, the Crimson combined for nine steals as Del Toro and Grabb each had two thefts. Ariel Dukes recorded five saves in the win.

In the last game of the weekend, Harvard faced Iona for the third time this season, as the Crimson own an undefeated mark against the Gaels in 2014.

Harvard and Iona were evenly matched as Harvard held a slim 6-5 lead at the half. The Crimson outscored the Gaels, 2-1, in the third before exploding for five goals in the fifth to pull away.

Andersen buried four-goals, dished out four helped and registered two thefts, while Del Toro chipped in for three scores.  Frager, Price, Balding and Grabb each added a goal. Dukes had seven saves in the win.

Harvard will hit the road for its first CWPA Southern Division matchup at Ivy League rival No. 8 Princeton on Sunday, March 2.  The game will be televised on ESPNU.
