  • CWPA Championship Approaches for No. 23 Women’s Water Polo

    The 2018 CWPA Championship is up for grabs this weekend as the No. 23 Harvard women’s water polo team heads to Bucknell University. The Crimson (15-17) have the eighth seed after going 2-6 in conference action and will meet ninth-seed Saint Francis (12-16, 0-8 CWPA) in the first matchup of the tournament. Harvard and the Red Flash will kick-off the weekend’s action on Friday, April 27 at noon in Kinney Natatorium. The winner advances to play the league’s top-seed, No. 10 Princeton (21-7, 8-0 CWPA) at 6 p.m. Stretch Internet will be streaming all the matches at a cost of $10 per game or $25 for the entire gamut.
  • Hong Earns All-CWPA Division I Second Team Honors

    Junior attacker Kristen Hong has been named to the All-CWPA Division I All-Conference second team, as announced by the league office Thursday, April 26. This marks the second-straight second team recognition for Hong.
  • No. 19 Women’s Water Polo Stumbles at No. 11 Princeton

    The No. 19 Harvard women’s water polo team fell to No. 11 Princeton, 13-7, on Sunday morning in DeNunzio Pool. Sophomores Mathilde Ribordy and Julie Harrison, as well as freshman Olivia Price each scored twice for the Crimson (15-17, 2-6 CWPA). Senior goalie Cleo Harrington stopped 12 shots in the final regular-season game.
  • No. 19 Women’s Water Polo Suffers Two Losses Saturday

    The No. 19 Harvard women’s water polo team suffered a pair of setbacks Saturday, falling in its morning tilt to Bucknell, 9-8, and then dropping a 14-12 decision to George Washington in its nightcap. Both games were played at Princeton.
  • ESPNU to Air No. 19 Women’s Water Polo’s Clash with No. 11 Princeton as Regular Season Concludes with Trio of CWPA Matches

    The 2018 regular season will conclude for the No. 19 Harvard women's water polo team this weekend. The Crimson (15-14, 2-3 CWPA) will play three conference matches at Princeton, taking on Bucknell and George Washington on Saturday, April 14, before facing No. 11 Princeton on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Harvard’s showdown with the Tigers (17-7, 4-0 CWPA) will be broadcast on ESPNU. Fans unable to make it to the games can watch the other contests live on the Ivy League Network.
  • No. 19 Women’s Water Polo Falls to Brown in OT

    The No. 19 Harvard women’s water polo team fell in an overtime thriller to Brown, 10-8, on Wednesday night in Katherina Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Sophomores Mathilde Ribordy and Julie Harrison led the Crimson (15-14, 2-3 CWPA) with two goals and five points (1g, 4a), respectively. Senior goalie Cleo Harrington made 12 saves in the loss to the Bears (14-14, 2-3 CWPA).
  • No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Takes on Brown Wednesday

    The No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo team will make the quick trip to Providence, Rhode Island Wednesday evening to take on Brown in a conference matchup. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. and fans unable to make it to the game can watch the broadcast live on the Ivy League Network.
  • No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Upsets No. 12 Hartwick in Final Home Game of Season

    For the second time this season, the No. 22 Harvard women’s polo team emerged from its home pool victorious against a higher-ranked opponent. Seniors Sami Strutner and Cleo Harrington led the Crimson (15-13, 2-2 CWPA) to an upset of No. 12 Hartwick, 12-10, in their final match at Blodgett Pool. Freshman Quinne Pursell registered two hat-tricks to lead Harvard on the day with seven goals as the Crimson fell to No. 9 Michigan (27-7, 5-0 CWPA), 12-7, in an early afternoon contest and defeated of the Hawks (27-9, 4-2 CWPA) for just the sixth time in program history.
  • No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Splits Opening CWPA Matches

    Opening day of the No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo conference season produced one win and a loss as the Crimson (14-12, 1-1 CWPA). Sophomores Julie Harrison and Mathilde Ribordy led the Crimson with six points on the day. Both scored four times and assisted two goals, as Harvard defeated Saint Francis, 14-4, before falling to No. 13 Indiana, 7-6. Senior captains Cleo Harrington and Sami Strutner were recognized prior to the match versus Indiana.
  • No. 22 Harvard Hosts Trio of Ranked Teams as CWPA Action Begins With 17 Games at Blodgett

    The No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo team will begin conference play against St. Francis (12-9) and No. 13 Indiana in Blodgett Pool on Saturday, April 7. The Crimson (13-11) take to the pool on Sunday versus No. 9 Michigan and No. 12 Hartwick. A total of 17 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) contests will take place in Blodgett Pool, with all the matches being broadcast on the Ivy League Network. Senior captains Sami Strutner and Cleo Harrington will be recognized prior to the matchup against the Hoosiers at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Ivy League Enhances Exposure, Fan Experience with Long-Term ESPN Agreement

    The Ivy League and ESPN have agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms, including at least 24 events annually on ESPN’s linear networks and more than 1,100 annually on ESPN+. This will include coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs.
  • Price’s Five Goals Help No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Flank George Washington

    Freshman Oliva Price erupted with five goals and sophomore Mathilde Ribordy accounted for seven points (4g, 3a) to lift the No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo team past George Washington, 14-8, on Sunday morning. The Crimson (13-11) defeat of the Colonials marked its conclusion of the Red Flash Tournament.

    Three games await the Harvard women's water polo team (11-10) at Saint Francis University this weekend. The 22nd-ranked Crimson will battle No. 13 Indiana, before meeting the host Red Flash and George Washington in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
  • Offense Clicks as No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Overpowers St. Francis, Edged by No. 13 Indiana

    The 22nd-ranked Harvard women’s water polo toppled St. Francis, 13-7, and fell to No. 13 Indiana by one goal, 11-10, on Saturday at the Red Flash Tournament in Stokes Natatorium. Junior Kristen Hong powered the Crimson offense with three goals against Indiana and scored four times against St. Francis, while junior Haley Bowe recorded her first collegiate hat trick against St. Francis.
  • Balanced Offense, Strong Goaltending Yield Two Wins for No. 22 Women's Water Polo

    The No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo team busted out its highest single-day offensive output of the month and produced strong goaltending to close out the Loyola Marymount Invitational with two victories. The Crimson (11-10) handed No. 24 California Baptist a 7-4 loss and five student-athletes registered multiple goals to drown out Fresno Pacific, 14-7, in an afternoon contest.
  • No. 22 Women’s Water Polo Defeats No. 23 Marist, Falls to No. 11 LMU

    On the first day of the LMU Invitational, the Harvard women’s water polo team (9-10) defeated No. 23 Marist, 7-5, but fell in its nightcap to No. 11 LMU, 10-5.

    Sophomore Sofia Carrera-Justiz scored twice and had three steals, but the No. 22 Harvard women’s water polo team (8-9) fell at No. 7 UC-Irvine Thursday evening, 16-6.

    A strong first half propelled the 20th-ranked Harvard women’s water polo team past Pomona-Pitzer, 11-9, on Tuesday afternoon in Haldeman Pool. Three goals from junior attacker Kristen Hong and a career-high six assists from second-year Sofia Carrera-Justiz helped the Crimson (8-8) snap its four-game skid with a victory over the Sagehens (7-9) – the No. 1 ranked program in Division III
  • Upsets Elude No. 20 Women’s Water Polo at Aztec Invite

    The No. 20 Harvard women’s water polo team fell in another pair of tight contests at the 2018 Aztec Invitational. The Crimson (7-8) was defeated by No. 19 Cal State Northridge (12-11), 10-8, before falling to No. 11 UC San Diego (17-10) in the final day at San Diego State’s Aztec Aquaplex.
  • Tough Start at Aztec Invitational for No. 20 Women’s Water Polo

    The No. 20 Harvard women’s water polo team lost its opening contests at the 2018 Aztec Invitational on Saturday. The Crimson was upset by the host, No. 21 San Diego State University, 6-5, in the morning and fell to fifth-ranked University of Hawai’i, 10-5, later in the day.
  • No. 20 Women’s Water Polo Readies for 10-Game California Road Swing

    The Harvard women’s water polo team (7-4) will head out west for its annual trip to California for Spring Break beginning March 10. The Crimson will play 10 games in the Golden State with nine of those teams ranked in the top-25 of the latest Division I poll and the final team ranked as the No. 1 team in the Division III rankings.

    The 21st-ranked Harvard women’s water polo team (7-4) closed out the Harvard Invite Sunday, falling in its morning game to No. 15 Wagner, 10-6, but bounced back with a resounding 15-6 victory over Siena.
  • No. 21 Women’s Water Polo Tops Toronto, No. 18 San Jose State at Harvard invite

    The No. 21 Harvard women’s water polo team (6-3) started the Harvard Invitational off with victories over Toronto and No. 18 San Jose State. The Crimson defeated Toronto in an exhibition, 7-3, and downed San Jose State, 7-6, in its afternoon contest.
  • No. 21 Women’s Water Polo Hosts Harvard Invitational, Plays No. 18 San Jose St. on ESPN3

    Four of the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s (CWPA) top-25 programs will compete at the 2018 Harvard Women’s Water Polo Invitational from Saturday, March 3 to Sunday, March 4. Blogett Pool will host the 21st-ranked Crimson, No. 15 Wagner, No. 18 San Jose State, and No. 22 Princeton, in addition to Brown (RV), Siena, and Toronto. The entirety of the weekend slate is available to stream on the Ivy League Network.

    Junior attacker Kristen Hong scored four times and aided three more goals in the No. 21 Harvard women’s water polo team defeat of Villanova, 18-12, on Sunday afternoon at the Princeton Invitational. Sophomore Sofia Carrera-Justiz added five goals and an assist to complete the event with 17 points (12g, 5a), while freshman Quinne Pursell registered her first collegiate hat trick to help the Crimson improve to 5-3 on the year.

    The No. 21 Harvard women’s water polo team beat Iona, 15-7, and fell to No. 12 Wagner, 13-8, during its first day at the Princeton Invitational. Sofia Carrera-Justiz led the Crimson (4-3) with seven goals and four assists (11 pts.) on the day, including a career-best four goals against Wagner (5-3).
