EARLYSVILLE, Va. – Paced by junior Viviana Hanley who finished the 5K in 17:25.3, Harvard women's cross country finished fourth of 14 teams at the Virginia-Panorama Farms Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
Hanley placed 13th overall in a competitive field, running over 30 seconds faster than in the season opener vs. Yale. Senior Morgan Kelly crossed in 17:34.3 for a 19th-place finish of 117 runners. Freshman Madeleine Ankhelvi ranked 29th with a time of 17:56.9.
Virginia won the meet with 42 total points. Elaina Balouris of William and Mary crossed in 16:31.8 to place first and push W&M to a second-place finish. Eastern Kentucky took third with 118 points, followed by the Crimson with 142.
Harvard will next compete at the Paul Short Invitational at Bethlehem, Pa. on Oct. 5.
