NEW ORLEANS – After winning the 40th-annual Paul Short Invitational with the second-fastest time in course history, senior James Leakos was named an honorable mention USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week.
Leakos led Harvard cross country to an impressive fourth-place showing of 47 teams at the Paul Short Invitational.
The Crimson men earned their highest finish in recent years with an average time of 24:25. Leakos finished the 8K course in 23:13, a time that ranks only behind former NCAA Champion Sam Chelanga.
Leakos and the rest of the Crimson will be back in action Oct. 19 with split squads at Princeton and Wisconsin.
