The 2018 Senior Perspectives is the 13th in a series of annual collections. Senior captains and representatives of teams at Harvard have been invited to contribute viewpoints based on personal experience from both their senior seasons and full varsity careers at Harvard.

My immediate reaction upon reflecting on my time as a senior and captain of the Track & Field and Cross Country Teams is one of overwhelming gratitude. I’m incredibly thankful for the lifelong friends that I’ve gained and for the way in which being an athlete at Harvard has contributed to my experience as a student. I’ve savored every moment of the last year, from having the privilege of serving as a role model to the underclassmen to winning the Harvard-Yale meet in dramatic fashion. Wearing the “H” on my chest has become more and more of a privilege as I near graduation. Like every other graduating senior, I’d give anything to be able to be back with my teammates again.
