Women’s Squash to Kickoff Season at Home Versus Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 1 Harvard women's squash begins its quest for a seventh straight CSA National Collegiate Women's Team Championship on Tuesday as the team hosts Brown in its season opener at the Murr Center squash courts. The Crimson will also look to extend its CSA record, 83-match active win streak, which dates back to the 2014-15 season. 
 
The match is scheduled to commence at 5:30 p.m. with courts 1-5 being streamed on ESPN+. 
 
Tuesday's meeting will be the Crimson's first against Brown since the Bears program transitioned to a club sport following the 2019-20 season.

What to Know:  
  • Tuesday's matchup will be the 50th meeting all time between Harvard and Brown. The Crimson leads the series, 49-0. 
  • Harvard comes in at No. 1 in the 2021-2022 Preseason Women's College Squash Team Rankings. 
  • The Crimson has won the last six CSA National Championships and owns an 83-match active win streak entering Tuesday's match, both CSA records. 
  • Harvard's roster features seven student-athletes who are yet to make their collegiate debuts. 
  • Hana Moataz and Grace Steelman will serve as this year's team captains. Moataz returns after earning first-team All-America honors in 2019-20. 
Leading the Way:
Mike Way begins his 12th season as the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University. Entering the 2021-22 season, Way boasts an overall record of 144-5 during his time leading the women's program.
