CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Ivy League announced its 10-man All-Ivy First-Team list on Wednesday, a group which features four Harvard student-athletes.
Victor Crouin,
Marwan Tarek,
Samuel Scherl and
George Crowne were each honored for their play during the 2021-22 season.
Harvard's four selections were the most of any school and mark the second straight year the Crimson has landed four on the first-team.
For both Crouin and Tarek, it is the third such recognition of their collegiate careers, while Scherl joins the group for a second time and Crowne makes his first appearance. Crouin, Tarek and Scherl were all unanimous selections to the team.
Playing in the number one spot for Harvard this season, the senior Crouin posted a 10-1 record while going 5-1 in league matches.
The Crimson's number two, junior captain
Marwan Tarek, earned his bid to the first-team after an 11-1 season individually which included a 5-1 mark in the Ivy-League.
Scherl, a senior captain, (12-0, 6-0 Ivy) and Crowne, a junior, (10-0, 5-0 Ivy) finished the year as Harvard's lone unbeaten individuals among players to appear in at least 50 percent of the team's matches. The pair played a huge role in Harvard's 13-0 records at both the third and fourth ladder positions this season.
Princeton's Youssef Ibrahim was named Ivy League Player of the Year, while Penn took home Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year honors, with Nathan Kueh and Gilly Lane winning the respective awards.
After finishing the regular season 12-1 as a team, Harvard now casts its gaze toward the CSA Men's Team Championship hosted by Penn this Friday-Sunday (Feb. 18-20).
