CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard's
Hana Moataz,
Marina Stefanoni,
Amina Yousry and
Habiba Eldafrawy were each named All-American awardees for the 2021-22 season, the College Squash Association announced on Tuesday.
Moataz, Stefanoni and Yousry each landed on the first-team, while Eldafrawy was honored as a member of the second-team.
Harvard has had at least one All-American honoree in every season dating back to 1981-82, a stretch of 40 consecutive seasons. The program's three first-team selections in 2021-22 are the most of any school.
For Moataz, this marks the second All-American honors of her collegiate career, while Stefanoni, Yousry and Eldafrawy are each a part of the distinguished group for the first time.
Moataz finished her senior campaign with a record of 12-1 at the No. 1 singles position, earning a First-Team All-Ivy selection for the second time in her college career. A native of Cairo, Egypt, Moataz reached the final of the CSA Individual National Championships before ultimately finishing as the Ramsey Cup Runner-Up for the second time.
Stefanoni complied a 12-1 mark in her first season of collegiate squash, playing most of her matches at the No. 2 spot on the ladder. The sophomore fought her way to the semifinal round in her inaugural Ramsey Cup appearance before falling to the No. 1 overall seed. The Darien, Conn. native was also a First-Team All-Ivy honoree, one of 10 student-athletes to make the list.
Yousry rounds out Harvard's First-Team selections, receiving the award after advancing to the quarterfinals at this year's Ramsey Cup. The senior went 7-1 on the season as an individual with appearances at the first, second and third positions.
Following her victory in the Holleran Cup's South draw, Eldafrawy was recognized by the CSA as a Second-Team All-America member. The first-year finished 13-1 individually this season to tie for the team lead in wins. Eldafrawy joined teammates Moataz, Stefanoni and
Serena Daniel as Harvard's First-Team All-Ivy selections.
