SAN JOSE, Calif – Feb. 7, 2025 – Former Harvard women's soccer legend, Hannah Bebar '24, inked her first professional contract this weekend after signing with the National Women's Soccer League's (NWSL) Bay FC. Bebar will now begin her professional soccer career after an accolade-filled collegiate career with the Crimson.
A Naperville, Ill. native, Bebar joined the Crimson in 2020, first seeing the field in 2021. Her 59 career points ranks 11
th all-time in program history and helped her earn two All-America honors while with Harvard in 2021 and 2022. A three-time First-Team All-Ivy League selection, Bebar helped lead the team to the inaugural Ivy League Tournament Championship in 2023 while also leading the team to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2021-2023. The midfielder's long list of accolades also includes a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist selection in 2022, making her one of only 15 players in the nation to earn the distinction.
"We're very excited to bring in a player of Hannah's caliber to this club," said Bay FC Head Coach Albertin Montoya. "She has excelled at every stop along her playing career so far, and we're thrilled to see what she can accomplish at Bay FC."
The 2024 Harvard College graduate has represented U.S. Youth National Teams at almost every level. She featured at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay, starting two matches in the tournament. She participated in the U.S. WNT January camp alongside Bay FC defender Alyssa Malonson, being named an injury replacement by Head Coach Emma Hayes on January 8.
Bebar joins two former Crimson greats in the NWSL ranks. Midge Purce '16 recently resigned with Gotham FC and Sophie Hirst '23 completed her second professional season in 2024 with the Portland Thorns FC.
The 2025 NWSL regular season will kick off March 16, with Bay FC opening its campaign on the road against the Utah Royals at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
