CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field wraps a memorable 2024-25 regular season on Friday night across town, as select Crimson student-athletes will take part in the Boston University Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance Meet. Harvard fans can catch all the action from the BU Track & Tennis Center live on FloTrack.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- The 2024-25 regular season has been one to remember for the Crimson, as Harvard student-athletes have rewritten the school and Ivy League record books on multiple occasions.
- On three separate occasions, the women's 4x400m relay team of seniors Victoria Bossong, Chloe Fair, Izzy Goudros and sophomore Sophia Gorriaran broke the program record in the event.
- At the Valentine Invitational last weekend, the quartet dropped their time down to 3:31.41, the tenth-fastest mark in the nation this season.
- Along with her excellence as the anchor of the Crimson 4x400m relay, Bossong also owns separate program records in the 400m (52.02) and the 800m (2:00.79). A native of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Bossong ranks in the top-10 in both events nationally this season.
- Senior Anastasia Retsa is enjoying a remarkable year in the women's pole vault. At the Penn 10 Elite last month, Retsa cleared the bar at 4.41m (14'5.5"), a new Ivy League record.
- In his second collegiate season, sophomore Timi Esan is emerging as one of the Ivy League's top sprinting talents on the men's side. A native of London, United Kingdom, Esan has broken the school record in the men's 60m twice, as his latest feat of 6.68 at the Crimson Elite is the leading mark in the Ivy League this season.
- Both Crimson squads rank in the top-25 of the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Rating Index. The women's team is currently ranked No. 22, while the men hold the No. 24 spot. Harvard is the only program in the Ivy League to be included in both rankings.
- Action at the Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance Meet starts with the women's 4x400m relay, as the Crimson will field two relay squads at 6:00 p.m.
- Seniors Joe Ewing and Noah Ward will follow the women's 4x400m relay with the men's mile at 6:05 p.m., as the evening concludes with the women's distance medley relay at 7:45 p.m.
