Baseball Loses Finale at Wofford, 13-2

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford scored 13 straight runs in the middle innings as the Terriers defeated visiting Harvard by a score3 of 13-2 at Russell King Field on Sunday

Harvard remains winless at 0-8 while Wofford improves to 11-5 with the win. The Crimson will continue its southern swing with a pair of games at Mercer starting tomorrow.

Harvard jumped on top in the first inning as Sam Franklin singled and stole second before coming around on a single from Marcus Way.

After tying the game in the bottom of the inning, the Terriers scored five times in the third and seven times in the fourth to take control. David Roney delivered the big blow with a three-run homer.

Harvard scored again in the ninth as J.T. Tomes singled to lead off, went to third on a double from Jack Colton and scored on an RBI groundout from Jon Smart.

For the game, Wofford out-hit Harvard 13-12 with Franklin and Way delivering two hits apiece.
