CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior catcher Ethan Ferreira has been named to the Capital One Division I Academic All-District first team, the organization announced Thursday. Ferreira is one of seven Ivy League athletes to earn the distinction this year.
One of the most consistent Crimson on both sides of the plate, Ferreira started all 42 games for the Crimson, 33 of which came from the backstop position. The economics major collected 16 multi-hit games, including a school record 21-game hit streak in the thick of the season. In total, Ferreira slashed .361/.425/.594 at the dish with 56 hits (15 doubles, three triples and five home runs), 30 runs scored and 35 RBI.
Ferreira, who served as a co-captain alongside classmate Jack Colton, led the Crimson to its most successful season since 2007, compiling an 18-24 record, going 7-13 in Ivy play.
