
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Harvard baseball team (25-13, 14-7 Ivy) earned the Ivy League title outright with a 7-2 victory against Brown, Monday, at Murray Field.
Harvard began the scoring in the top of the second inning. Junior Chad Minato got on base with a double, then scored later in the inning thanks to senior Devan Peterson's sacrifice fly to center field.
The Crimson answered Brown's third-inning run with a run of its own. Peterson, again, scored the run with a double down the right field line, scoring Minato. Harvard added another run in the sixth inning when sophomore Buddy Mrowka worked a bases-loaded, four-pitch walk to increase the lead to 3-1.
Harvard secured the win with a huge bases-clearing triple from senior Ben Skinner in the eighth inning, improving the score to 6-2. Bigge would plate Minato in the ninth inning with a double to add to the lead.
Harvard Highlights:
- Harvard wins the Ivy League title for the first time since 2005 and will host Columbia in the Ivy League Championship Series.
- Minato finished with a team-high four hits and five runs in the game.
- Following him in the lineup, Bigge also had four hits and a walk with a RBI.
- Sophomore Enzo Stefanoni pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out four batters.
- Senior Ian Miller threw 5.1 innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs, striking out four.

Harvard will play host to Columbia in the Ivy League Championship Series, a three-game series beginning on May 18th at a time that is to be determined. The winner of the series advances to the NCAA Tournament.
