GREENWOOD, Ind. – After being drafted in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday, senior Patrick McColl of the Harvard Baseball team has earned Academic All-America Third-Team recognition. Academic All-District awards are nominated and voted upon exclusively by members of CoSIDA, and athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.30 or higher to be nominated. McColl was one of three Ivy League players recognized.

The senior was drafted by the Athletics in the 10th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. In his final campaign, McColl has been a vital part of this season's Ivy League champion squad. The senior finished the season with a team-leading .387 batting average, hitting 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. McColl also led the team 70 hits, which is a program record. Most notably, he hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning against Yale, completing a nine-run comeback for the team.
