
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Harvard baseball senior Patrick McColl earns New England Baseball Writers Association District One Player of the Year. The recent graduate adds the award to a busy week, which he was drafted in the 10th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday, as well as earning Google Cloud Academic All-America Third-Team honors on Thursday.
In his final campaign, McColl was a vital part of this season's Ivy League champion squad. The senior finished the season with a team-leading .387 batting average, hitting 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. McColl also led the team 70 hits, which is a program record. Most notably, he hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning against Yale, completing a nine-run comeback for the team.
