CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Justice Shelton-Mosley has been selected to the Phil Steele FCS All-America first team as a punt returner, the publication announced Friday, Dec. 15.
The All-America recognition is the second of Shelton-Mosley's career. He was a STATS FCS All-America third team selection following his rookie campaign, and before each of the last two seasons he was recognized as a preseason All-American by STATS.
This season, the Sacramento, California native was named All-Ivy League, All-ECAC and All-New England prior to earning the All-America distinction from Phil Steele Magazine.
Shelton-Mosley was among the nation's best punt returners in 2017. He averaged 18.8 yards per return, good for first in the Ancient Eight by 10 yards, as well as ranking third nationally. His two punt returns for touchdowns, including a program-record 91-yard effort at Georgetown, ties him for the most in the nation. He led Harvard with 110.7 all-purpose yards, a figure that ranked sixth in the conference.
Shelton-Mosley has exceled returning punts his entire year in Cambridge. He holds the two highest punt return averages in program history with this season's mark of 18.8 yards falling just shy of 2015 when he averaged 19.0 yards per return. His 617 total punt return yards is second-most in program history, trailing on Colby Skelton '98, who had 825 in his career.
