CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard football trio of Liam Shanahan, Brogan McPartland and Jon Sot landed on the 2019 New England Football Writers Division I All-New England Team. The Crimson was tied for the second-most selections in the region.
Hailing from nearby Marlborough, Shanahan was a staple on the offensive line, starting all 10 games, while helping Harvard average 243.3 yards through the air and 153.2 yards on the ground. The senior was part of a unit that blocked for a pair of all-Ivy League running backs in Devin Darrington (all-Ivy second team) and Aidan Borguet (Ivy League Rookie of the Year).
On the other side of the ball, McPartland was a menace on the defensive line, leading the Ivy League with 9.5 sacks and adding 13.5 tackles for loss. After missing the first three games of the campaign, the senior from Stephens City, Virginia finished tied for the seventh-most tackles on the team with 36.
Sot, meanwhile, earned all-New England honors after a sophomore campaign in which he averaged 42.3 yards per punt. The Clark, New Jersey product led the Crimson with 29 boots, including a career-long 76-yarder, accomplished at Holy Cross, and put seven punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line.
