STORRS, Conn. – The No. 4 Connecticut Huskies (5-0) struck twice in the opening phase of the first half Sunday, and twice more in the second half, to take a 4-0 win over the visiting Harvard Crimson (2-2) Sunday.
Amanda Collins potted a pair of first half goals for the Huskies in the ninth and 12th minute of the opening half, giving the nationally-ranked Huskies a 2-0 lead they carried to half.
The second half saw Libby Manela make a trio of saves for Harvard, but UConn tacked on two more goals to seal the 4-0 victory. The conservative game saw Harvard take two penalty corners in the second half, while the Huskies managed just one.
Harvard returns to action Friday, hosting Northeastern at the Berylson Family Field Hockey Field at 6 p.m. The Crimson will follow that up with a trip to UMass Sunday.
