Marissa Balleza has also won three Ivy Player of the Week awards this season (Mark Manela).
CHANDLER, Ariz. – Senior Marissa Balleza continues to be recognized for her outstanding play this season, garnering Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Wednesday.
Balleza, who was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, scored three goals over the weekend, helping the Crimson top then-No. 11 Princeton, 3-2, and Lafayette, 2-0. Balleza scored late in the first half of Harvard's overtime triumph at Princeton, its first win over the Tigers in 22 years. She potted the only two goals of Sunday's win at Lafayette, which extended Harvard's program-record win streak to eight games.
The Severna Park, Maryland native continues to add to her program-record career goals and points mark. She now has 47 goals and 109 points during her time in Cambridge.
Harvard has three regular season games remaining, hosting No. 14 Boston College Thursday, visiting Dartmouth Saturday and hosting Columbia Nov. 5. A win in Hanover Saturday would clinch at least a share of this season's Ivy League title for the Crimson and a win the following week over Columbia would earn them the championship outright.
