Men’s Basketball Duo Takes Home Gold at European Maccabi Games

BUDAPEST, Hungary - Rising sophomore Spencer Freedman and recent graduate Robbie Feinberg '19 suited up for Team USA this summer, winning gold in the open basketball tournament at the 15th European Maccabi Games in Budapest. The games celebrate Jewish heritage and culture in athletics, bringing together the best Jewish athletes from around the world.

Team USA breezed through the round robin phases of the tournament, winning all five of its contests by double digits. Feinberg's best performance came in the 88-38 victory over France, where he received a starting nod and scored six points on two-for-two shooting from beyond the arc. Freedman's most impressive stat line came in the same game, as he scored 16 points with three assists. He averaged 8.2 points and 5.3 assists per game throughout the tournament.

Team USA defeated Russia, 73-63, in the gold medal game, as Freedman tallied seven assists.
