CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising senior Robert Deng has been named to the 2016 PING All-Northeast Region team, marking the second all-region honor of his career.
Deng helped Harvard to its first Ivy League championship in 41 years as the Crimson held off Dartmouth by four strokes at Metedeconk National Golf Club April 20-22. A native of Irvine, California, Deng placed 14th at the Ivy League Championship and finished among the top 25 competitors at all eight events he competed in this year, including a runner-up finish at the MacDonald Cup.
Deng also received all-region honors as a freshman in 2014 after taking home Ivy League Rookie of the Year plaudits. He was a first team All-Ivy League pick in 2015 following his third-place performance at the conference tournament. He joins Greg Shuman '10 and Antonio Grillo '12 as one of three members of the Crimson to be tabbed to the all-region team twice.
