Vinar Leads Men’s Golf at Opening Tournament

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior Kendrick Vinar shot a minus-6 for the weekend to pace the Harvard men's golf team at the Furman Intercollegiate event over the weekend.

Vinar shot a 69-68-73 (210) at the Furman University Golf Course, his best mark over a three-day tournament, to finish ninth overall. Senior Robert Deng finished in a tie for 14th overall, finishing the weekend strong with scores of 74-71-69 to post a minus-2 overall.

"Although the conditions at Furman played tough, everybody stayed mentally engaged and tried their best to score well," said Deng. "It's been an encouraging week overall."

Sophomores Seiya Liu and Austin Capart each finished four over with a score of 220, registering scores of 72-74-74.

Greg Royston hit one eagle on the weekend and rounded out the top-five Crimson finishers (76-73-73).
