CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Fred Schernecker '89, the Paul M. Weissman '52 Director of Harvard Golf, and head coach Kevin Rhoads released the 2017-18 Harvard men's golf schedule today (Aug. 15).
The back-to-back Ivy League Champions will again open their campaign at the Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's Sept. 9-10. The 2017 tournament will mark Harvard's ninth-consecutive entry in the event formerly known as the McLaughlin. Two weeks later, the team will head north to Dartmouth's Quechee Invitational. Last season, senior Robert Deng and junior Greg Royston tied for third place individually, pacing the Crimson to a second-place finish in the field of 15. The Crimson will then attempt to three-peat as Yale's MacDonald Cup Champions Sept. 30-Oct. 1, and will close out the fall season with The Cal Alistair McKenzie hosted by California Oct. 9-10.
After the winter hiatus, the team will return to the course at the Furman Intercollegiate Mar. 23-25 and will close out the regular season at the Princeton Invitational Apr. 8-9. Harvard will then head to the Ivy League Championships where it will compete for its third straight conference title Apr. 20-22.
