HANOVER, N.H. – Bringing a close to the team's second tournament of the fall, Harvard men's golf etched a sixth-place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational, held at Hanover Country Club.
Junior Grant Fairbairn led the team with a sixth-place individual showing, totaling two rounds below par of 69 and 70 to finish three under. His seven birdies were a team high, while classmate Peter George had six and sophomore Brian Isztwan ended with five. Junior Oliver Cordeiro took 28th overall at three over, while first-year Adam Xiao finished 32nd.
The Crimson finished day one a collective one over par. Fairbairn and George each shot two-under rounds of 69, while Cordeiro was even par.
All six Harvard student-athletes in action had at least one birdie over the second 18 holes. Fairbairn and Xiao ended one under par at 70. Xiao had only one bogey in round two, with Xiao and Cordeiro ending with the third most pars on the weekend.
- Fairbairn ended three under par (69-70) to take sixth place overall. All four of his rounds this season have ended at or below par, with his 69 tying his collegiate-low.
- All six Harvard players tallied at least two birdies, with Fairbairn's seven leading the way. Four players had at least one round at or below par.
The team returns to action Sept. 28-29 at the Princeton Invitational, held at Springdale Golf Club.
