CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – First-year forward Nick Abruzzese was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month, the league announced today (Jan. 7). A native of Slate Hill, N.Y., Abruzzese was the leading scorer among all ECAC Hockey first-years during the month of December, recording six points (four goals, two assists) in five games played.

Abruzzese had a point in all five games last month, including a four-game goal scoring streak, where he potted goals against nationally-ranked Cornell and Arizona State. Abruzzese recorded a team-high 19 shots on goal in that span as well.

Entering games this weekend, Abruzzese leads all NCAA first-years in per-game scoring with an average of 1.14 points per contest. He has 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 14 games.

Harvard will take on Yale on Saturday night (Jan. 11) at 8 p.m. in the Rivalry on Ice game at Madison Square Garden. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
