WASHINGTON D.C. – Sophomore Devin Dwyer of the Harvard men's lacrosse team has been tabbed to the 2014 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, the Great Washington Sports Alliance announced Thursday afternoon. Dwyer is included in a list of the top lacrosse players across all three divisions of collegiate lacrosse and highlights the early hopefuls of the 2014 Tewaaraton Award honors.

Dwyer, an attackman from Garden City, N.Y., leads Harvard in assists this season with 11 handouts, as he recorded a career-high five in the Crimson's 15-7 win at Georgetown March 8. The Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America honorable mention has also scored three goals this season to sit third on the team in points, 14. The preseason All-NEILA second team pick has collected nine ground balls in just three appearances this season. Currently Dwyer rides a nine-game point streak comprised of eight goals and 25 assists that dates back to March 30, 2012.

As a freshman, Dwyer became the first rookie to lead Harvard in scoring since Jeff Cohen '12 did so in 2009 to become the third member of the Crimson to earn All-New England Rookie of the Year honors following Mike Meagher '02 in 1999 and Eipp '14 in 2011. Dwyer's 43 points ranked seventh overall in the Ivy League while his 27 assists were third best in the conference. Dwyer also registered 16 goals during his first collegiate campaign, including six-multi goal performances and one hat trick. The Ancient Eight honorable mention selection scored at least one point in 13 of 14 games in 2013 and tallied multiple points on 11 occasions.

The selection committees will make additions to this list as the season progresses and athletes earn a spot alongside these elite players. In late April, the list will be narrowed to 25 men who will earn the distinction of Tewaarton Nominees. In early May, the five finalists in each category will be announced. These finalists will be invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, which will take place on May 29 in Washington.
