Men's Lacrosse Tabbed No. 12 in Preseason Media Poll

Harvard will begin the year ranked 12th in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 12 in 2015 Cascade/Maverik Preseason Media Poll.

Harvard also received recognition in the USILA Preseason Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 11 after earning a share of the 2014 Ivy League championship and receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. 29 letterwinners return from last year's squad, highlighted by All-American juniors Devin Dwyer and Bobby Duvnjak. Senior goalkeeper Jake Gambitsky, junior defenseman Stephen Jahelka, and junior attackman Will Walker also earned All-Ivy accolades a season ago.

The Crimson is one of six Ivy League programs represented in the poll, matching the ACC for the highest number of schools to receive recognition. Other Ivies appearing in the poll include Cornell (8th), Penn (13th), Yale (15th), Princeton (RV), and Brown (RV).

Harvard will open its 2015 season on Saturday, Feb. 21 at home versus UMass. In addition to its Ancient Eight foes, the Crimson will face off against five other opponents ranked in both the Cascade/Maverik Preseason Media Poll and USILA Preseason Coaches Poll; Duke (3/3), North Carolina (5/6), Albany (11/12), Penn State (17/14) and UMass (RV/RV).
