Fischer collects another academic honor on the heels of a successful 2015 campaign (Elan Kawesch).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Graduating senior Brian Fischer has been named to the 2015 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America Team, the association announced Monday.
Fischer was both an All-Ivy League second team selection and a member of the NEILA Academic All-Region Team after forcing a career-high 18 turnovers and collecting 21 ground balls. While regularly being asked to defend against the opposition's top scoring threat, Fischer also played a role in Harvard's transition offense, scoring the first three goals of his career and adding one assist for a total of four points. Drafted by the Boston Cannons in the fifth round of the 2015 Major League Lacrosse Draft, Fischer concluded his career with 92 ground balls and 44 caused turnovers.
Only seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Scholar All-America team. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North-South team, or be an outstanding league or conference player. Recipients must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on the field and off.
