CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman Larsen Bidstrup of the Harvard men's lacrosse team has been announced as one of two recipients of the 2015 Michael Breschi Scholarship.
Established in 2007 to honor the life and memory of Michael Breschi, son of University of North Carolina men's lacrosse head coach, Joe Breschi, the scholarships are awarded annually to two graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college and are the son or daughter of a coach who serves as a full-time employee of an educational institution. Criteria considered include academic qualifications, extracurricular activities, internships, community service and employment experience. US Lacrosse administers the scholarships, with winners selected annually by the Breschi family.
Bidstrup was a four-year letterwinner in both lacrosse and football at The Governor's Academy and captained the lacrosse team as a senior. He graduated as the school record holder in career points, and led Governor's to two Independent School League championships. An attackman, Bidstrup earned All-America honors as a junior and senior, and was tabbed all-league in his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
The Byfield, Massachusetts, native received high honors all four years at Governor's.
