Lang named preseason honoree for second-straight year.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse junior attackmen Morgan Cheek and Joe Lang were named Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America honorable mention selections, the publication announced Tuesday.
Cheek, an All-Ivy League second team selection a season ago, returns to the Crimson lineup after sitting second on the team in goals and assists in 2016. The Wellesley, Massachusetts product posted 36 goals and 24 assists for 60 points as a sophomore. In the Ivy League Semifinal against Brown, Cheek went off for a career-high nine goals in the 13-12 upset.
Lang, a Mill Valley, California native, earned All-Ivy League first team accolades last year after totaling 39 points on 22 goals and 17 assists. The attack added 22 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.
Cheek, Lang and the rest of the Crimson start the season Feb. 18 at UMass Lowell and will open its home slate against Massachusetts Feb. 25 on the Ivy League Digital Network.
