Three Men’s Lacrosse Standouts Named to NEILA Preseason Teams

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse junior Joe Lang was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England Preseason First Team, while juniors Morgan Cheek and Sean Coleman were named to the second team, the organization announced.

Lang, a Mill Valley, California native, earned All-Ivy League first team accolades last year after totaling 39 points on 22 goals and 17 assists. The attack added 22 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

Cheek, an All-Ivy League second team selection a season ago, returns to the Crimson lineup after sitting second on the team in goals and assists in 2016. The Wellesley, Massachusetts product posted 36 goals and 24 assists for 60 points as a sophomore. In the Ivy League Semifinal against Brown, Cheek went off for a career-high nine goals in the 13-12 upset.

Coleman saw action in 13 games last season, posting seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania product collected 12 ground calls and went 9-of-18 when facing off.

The Crimson starts the season  Feb. 18 at UMass Lowell and will open its home slate against Massachusetts Feb. 25 on the Ivy League Digital Network.
