Lang Unanimous All-Ivy as Four Men’s Lacrosse Players Honored

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard men's lacrosse junior midfielder Joe Lang was a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League first team, leading four Crimson players to garner All-Ancient Eight nods. Junior attack Morgan Cheek, sophomore defensemen Jonathan Butler and junior goalie Robert Shaw all earned second team honors.

This marked the third time that Lang was named to an All-Ivy team and the second-straight year the Mill Valley, California product was placed on the first team. Lang led all Crimson midfielders with 19 goals and 10 assists for 29 points. He added 25 ground balls.

Butler was continually assigned the opposing team's best offensive player, causing a team-high 15 turnovers and picking up 25 ground balls. The Summit, New Jersey product started all 13 games.

Cheek led all Crimson scorers with 5.15 points per game on 2.85 goals and 2.31 assists. The Wellesley, Massachusetts native ranked seventh in the country in points per game and ninth in the NCAA in both goals and assists. Cheek recorded eight hat tricks this season and owns a 31-game point streak that spans two-plus seasons.

Shaw started every game but one this year, ranking second in the Ancient Eight in save percentage (.526) and fourth in goals-against average (11.18). Shaw also placed No. 12 in the NCAA with 11.85 saves per game, recording double-digit stops in eight contests this year.
