PERRY, N.Y. – After becoming the second Harvard lacrosse player ever to score 30-plus goals with 30-plus assists in a single season, junior Morgan Cheek, of the Harvard men's lacrosse team, was named a 2017 USILA/Nike All-America honorable mention selection as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association this morning.
Cheek tallied 37 goals and 30 assists along with picking up 27 ground balls for the Crimson. The junior attackman ranked seventh in the country averaging 5.15 points per game to go along with ninth in the NCAA in both goals and assists, averaging 2.85 and 2.31 respectively.
The Wellesley, Massachusetts native was also a second team All-Ivy League and All-New England player for the Crimson this season. Cheek was a preseason All-America honorable mention, preseason NEILA second-teamer and put on the Tewaaraton Award watch list.
