CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the heels of his first-career hat trick, freshman Kyle Salvatore of the men's lacrosse team has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. He is the third Harvard player to win Rookie of the Week this season.
Salvatore tallied a career-best three goals for his first-career hat trick, including the game-winning goal in a 10-8 victory over Dartmouth. The New Canaan, Connecticut native broke a deadlock with 5:57 to play, beating the goalie off the feed from senior Morgan Cheek. Salvatore leads all Harvard rookies with seven goals and eight points this season, and has helped guide Harvard to a 7-1 start with six consecutive wins.
The midfielder joins classmates Steven Cuccurullo (Feb. 19, March 5) and Bryn Evans (March 19) in winning the award this season. No. 19 Harvard treks to No. 1 Albany on Wednesday, March 28 to close the non-conference schedule.
