BALTIMORE, Md. – Earning the opportunity to play lacrosse at the professional level, Harvard forward Morgan Cheek was selected in the third round (21st overall) in the Major League Lacrosse Draft on Wednesday by the Charlotte Hounds.
Cheek became the ninth player in program history to be drafted into Major League Lacrosse, doing so as the 21st overall pick by Charlotte. The Wellesley, Massachusetts native is just six points shy of 200 for his career, and he leads the Crimson with 53 points this season on 20 goals and 33 assists. Cheek is the third-highest draft choice in program history, trailing just Stephen Jahelka '16 and Kevin Vaughn '12, and is the second Harvard student-athlete to be chosen by the Charlotte Hounds.
Harvard has two games remaining in the regular season, at home against Princeton on Saturday, April 21, and at Yale the following Saturday, April 28.
