CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse senior Jonathan Butler and sophomore Jack Frisoli were named to the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England Preseason Second Team.
Butler was one of four players on defense that landed on the squad after a 2018 season in which he led the Crimson in caused turnovers (15) and ranked third in ground balls (22). Last Saturday, Butler was credited with two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in a starting assignment at nationally ranked North Carolina.
Frisoli, meanwhile, was the short-stick defense choice after playing in all 13 games a freshman in 2018, and recording an assist, six ground balls and two caused turnovers. At UNC, the sophomore opened the campaign by receiving the starting nod and supplying his first career goal, one assist, four ground balls and one caused turnover.
The Crimson (0-1) returns to action on Saturday afternoon when it plays host to Massachusetts at Jordan Field. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. with the contest airing on ESPN+. Fans in attendance will receive 2019 schedule magnets.
