Will Corrigan Joins Men’s Lacrosse as Assistant Coach

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Gerry Byrne, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, has announced the addition of Will Corrigan to the program as an assistant coach today, August 7.

"Will has a deep background and lineage in the sport. It is multigenerational with grandparents, great aunts and uncles who are seminal figures in the history of the game as well as cousins and uncles who have played and continue to impact the game," stated Byrne. "From this vantage point, Will brings a profound passion for teaching and connecting with players to help them reach their potential that was formed playing for his father at Notre Dame and enhanced during his stint at Washington and Lee."

Corrigan arrives in Cambridge after serving as an assistant coach at Washington and Lee for the past two seasons. Last season, Corrigan helped lead the Generals to the ODAC regular season and tournament championship titles as well as the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Corrigan came to Washington and Lee from the Woodinville Lacrosse Club, where he served as the varsity head coach for two years. Corrigan helped guide the Falcons to a state semifinal appearance in 2017, following the program's first Division I state playoff appearance in his first season. Prior to his time with the Falcons, Corrigan coached the CitySideLax travel teams, where he coordinated recruiting and curriculum since 2015.

"I am extremely excited to work at one of the premier institutions in the world," said Corrigan. "Harvard's excellence in the classroom and on the field make it one of the most unique opportunities in coaching and I feel fortunate to get the opportunity to work here. Thank you to Coach Byrne, Bob Scalise and everyone at Harvard for providing me with this opportunity. I look forward to aiding Coach Byrne, Coach Hutchinson and the entire Harvard staff in achieving excellence on and off the field, as well as connecting with the student-athletes and giving them the best collegiate experience possible."

A 2015 graduate of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Corrigan was a four-year letterwinner on the Fighting Irish men's lacrosse team. An Academic All-ACC selection, Corrigan helped the Irish to four NCAA Championship appearances and a runner-up finish as a junior in 2014. Corrigan has strong ties to the game of lacrosse, as his father Kevin has served as the head coach at Notre Dame for more than 30 years.
