CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Welcoming back successful alumni in the professional world, the Harvard men's and women's lacrosse programs will host a career panel this Friday, Feb. 7. Supporting student-athlete success both on and off the field, alumni from the two programs will share their experiences and insights from their professional careers post-graduation.

"The close ties between the Crimson Lacrosse alumnae and the current team are emblematic of the unique experience of being a student-athlete at Harvard," said Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse. "The experiences that these women share as Harvard Lacrosse players will stay with them forever and form a common bond that should be learned from and celebrated. We are lucky to have an alumnae group that is eager to interact and impart knowledge upon our student-athletes as they seek to find their own path in the professional world. These events are critical in connecting the past with the present, and spark excitement about the potential experiences for future Crimson players. There is no other experience out there quite like the Crimson Lacrosse experience, and this is an amazing evening to celebrate, learn, and dream."
Harvard men's lacrosse will be represented by Francis Ellis '11, Rob Shaw '18, Ben Smith '10 and Will Walker '16. Ellis, a comedian, actor, radio host and podcaster, headlines shows around the country and is a senior editor at BroBible. "The Harvard Lacrosse Alumni Community is one of the most engaged and selfless networks in college athletics," said The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, Gerry Byrne. "Our former players assist in interview preparation, company research, job placement advocacy and much more. Former Harvard Lacrosse players hold leadership positions in every industry across the globe and due to their willingness to "give back" we are able to connect our athletes with people in the companies and organizations that they are most interested in."
Following a three-year coaching stint as the defensive coordinator for the Crimson, Smith earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. A licensed and board-certified dentist, Smith is currently pursuing a Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. After serving as an intern in equity research during his undergraduate career at Harvard, Walker was promoted to an equity research analyst at Fidelity Investments.
"Having a deep understanding of the athletic and academic experience as a former Harvard student-athlete means you have a deep fund of knowledge and wisdom to impart to our current team members," added Byrne. "This wisdom, when shared, connects generations of Harvard men, builds a bridge across decades and allows our staff to speak to future families and prospects about the unique academic, athletic and professional that a Harvard education will afford."
