Squash’s Amanda Sobhy moves on to Ramsey Cup Final, David Ryan Falls in Pool Trophy Semifinal

Ryan falls one win short of Pool Trophy final (Gil Talbot)

PRINCETON, N.J. – Six Harvard squash players took the court, Saturday, in the second day of the 2015 CSA Individual Championships from Princeton, New Jersey.

After registering two more 3-0 sweeps, Amanda Sobhyadvanced to her fourth-consecutive Ramsey Cup final. Sobhy notched her first sweep of the day against Penn's Anka Alankamony in a quarterfinal match-up. She then swept Princeton's Olivia Fietcher in the semifinal round. Sobhy will face off with Trinity's Kanzy El Defrawy for the Ramsey Cup, Sunday, March 1, at 1 p.m.

Freshman David Ryan started day two with a 3-0 sweep of Cornell's Aditya Jagtap. Ryan then moved on to meet Columbia's Osama Khalifa in a Pool Trophy semifinal match, falling 3-0.

In the Molloy Cup division, Matt Roberts went 1-1 in the second day of action. Roberts took down Cornell's Graham Dietz in a round of 16 match-up, 3-1. In the quarterfinals he met Trinity's Affeeq Ismail, losing out for a spot in the semifinals, 3-0.

Michelle Gemmell continued play in the first round consolation bracket, Saturday, beating out Bates' Nessrine Ariffin, 3-1, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Gemmell took on Princeton's Rachel Leizman eventually falling 3-1. Freshamn Alyssa Mehta competed in the second round consolation bracket, going 1-1. In her first match of the day, Mehta defeated George Washington's Anna Porrass, 3-1 but fell to Trinity's Raneem Sharaf, 3-0.

Bryan Koh met Rochester's Neil Cordell in a Pool Trophy first round consolation quarterfinal match. Koh fought hard, but eventually lost to Cordell, 3-1.
